2010

Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm established the health authority in 2004 to improve the capacity of the region’s underfunded health care infrastructure to serve the estimated 500,000 uninsured residents living in Detroit and Wayne County. Funding helps the agency coordinate the health care community’s efforts to compete for community health center funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration.
