Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the national center for crafts education offers an array of workshops in books and paper, clay, drawing, glass, iron, metals, and photography, along with artists’ residencies, community-collaboration programs, and a gallery and information center. This four-year grant commitment strengthens Penland’s building-reserves fund as part of an overall capitalization plan.
