The Capuchin friars established the Mt. Elliott Makerspace as a shared work space for training environmentally conscious designers and inventors. This grant supports the pilot project, which teaches East Detroit residents advanced computer design and manufacturing skills, and serves as an eco-industrial factory for turning salvaged materials into consumer products.
